Prieta Beach Club

Had the privilege of staying at a nearby private residence and we went to Prieta Beach Club several times. Excellent drinks, food, and service. The staff knew our names and really made us feel at home. Very prompt with drink and food orders, and always accommodating to our requests. It’s private, luxurious, and a tranquil place to truly relax. Will definitely be back.

One of the best pools I have ever visited. The pool service was prompt, kind and accommodating. The water was the temperature of a lovers gentle kiss, a light chill followed by a calming serenity. The food was excellent both at the pool and for dinner. The beach was gorgeous and the black sand glistened like it had a million tiny diamonds in it. Does it? Someone should check.

As a home owner for more than 17 years on Peninsula Papagayo, I have witnessed many changes. The current renovations of this area have resulted in a lovely place to enjoy. You can dine on the beach, this may or may not be a pleasant experience, as during some times of the year it can get quite buggy. However, give it try! Service is excellent, and the new staff are fantastic. The front desk could use more training. Asking personal questions in front of other guests should not be allowed. Makes one feel uncomfortable. Overall, beautiful place to enjoy the sunset, dine on tapas, surf, swim, and just enjoy Costa Rica.

Amazing place! This beach club has everything, the design is breathtaking and the service couldn’t be better. The beach is very calm so you can just enjoy a nice swim. Definitely one a little piece of paradise!

Great beach and pool area. It was very reminiscent of an all inclusive resort in Mexico without the food and liquor. Well worth it to spend the day and get away. Oh, and be careful at high tide. We experienced 15 foot plus waves with a reasonable undertow. I would not let the kids go more than 20 yards off the beach. Low tide, however, was great for my 7 and 11 year old.

You make stays in Papagayo’s private villas an incredible experience!

Sunset drinks at Prieta Beach Club was easily the best experience of our week-long trip to Costa Rica. I called for a same day reservation, and we were sat at the first row of tables right along the beach with the most stunning view of the sunset. I can't even put into words how beautiful it was. As someone who loves sunsets, this may have been my favorite one, ever. But beyond the setting and extremely aesthetic design, the drinks here were incredible. The creativity rivaled some of the best cocktail bars back home in New York, and both my boyfriend and I were super impressed. The service was also impeccable -- attentive but not hovering and our car was already waiting at valet when we walked up the stairs to leave. We'd planned to just come for one drink but ended up staying for two, and I was wishing we didn't already have dinner reservations booked elsewhere. The entire team at Prieta Beach Club is superb, and I really hope to come back again one day.

We had the privilege of being attended to by Diego two nights in a row. It’s obvious Diego loves his job and is beyond pleasant, entertaining, and professional with every interaction. He is the definition of hospitality. We look forward to seeing him every day at the club!
